Since the curtain first went up on the musical comedy Arcadians in 1988, audiences in Oxford have been dazzled by over thirty incredible shows from the Musical Youth Company of Oxford. Now, in 2018, still riding high from this year’s ground-breaking production of Godspell, MYCO celebrated its 30th Anniversary with a gala concert ‘Starmaker’ at the Oxford Town Hall on 20th October. This unique event welcomed back ex-MYCO members to perform alongside our current members and was a true celebration of ambition, talent, generosity, dedication and friendship.
The Town Hall was packed and so was the stage as the company, both past and present, numbering about 100 performers in all, treated the audience to an amazing selection of both ensemble and solo numbers.
MYCO couldn’t continue to maintain its consistently high standards without the passionate creative teams who have driven it over the last 30 years and, of course, a cohort of courageous young members each of whom has a passion for performing that allows them to break boundaries, take risks, and work tirelessly for excellence. Each and every one of them is a star.
